Branded Generic Aricept Price Drops 36 Percent

This is important news. Especially important for families that were unable to afford Aricept previously. This is also good news for those families using the combination of Aricept and Namenda. Please share.

Each day, on average, over 1,200 persons are diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. By the end of May, branded generic Aricept will be affordable for a greater number of patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
This new pricing is about $100 below the average pricing from last month.
The news on generic Aricept is going to get better soon. After the exclusivity period ends on May 25, the price of generic Aricept is expected to fall into the $50 - $75 area for a 30 day supply.
Second, this new pricing model for Aricept will make the combination of Namenda and Aricept more affordable for those who can benefit from this treatment.

Are Alzheimer's Caregivers the Forgotten?

If you know someone that has been touched by Alzheimer's disease you might consider sending this article to them.

I meet and talk to Alzheimer's caregivers all the time. It is not unusual for them to tell me that as time goes on, and as Alzheimer's worsens, one by one their family and friends fade away....
Like it or not, if you are a family member or friend of an Alzheimer's caregiver and you are not helping them -- you have abandoned them. I am sure this sounds harsh. But, it's not even close to the harshness of your own behavior.

A Secretive Banking Elite Rules Trading in Derivatives

On the third Wednesday of every month, the nine members of an elite Wall Street society gather in Midtown Manhattan.

The men share a common goal: to protect the interests of big banks in the vast market for derivatives, one of the most profitable — and controversial — fields in finance. They also share a common secret: The details of their meetings, even their identities, have been strictly confidential.
Drawn from giants like JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, the bankers form a powerful committee that helps oversee trading in derivatives, instruments which, like insurance, are used to hedge risk.
In theory, this group exists to safeguard the integrity of the multitrillion-dollar market. In practice, it also defends the dominance of the big banks.

The banks in this group, which is affiliated with a new derivatives clearinghouse, have fought to block other banks from entering the market, and they are also trying to thwart efforts to make full information on prices and fees freely available.

Dr Oz Eat Curry Prevent Alzheimer's Disease

Dr.Oz's number one suggestion -- eat curry once or twice a week to help prevent Alzheimer's disease......
Dr Oz mentioned that every 70 seconds someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. By the time you finish reading this article several more people will be suffering from Alzheimer's. Another group of Alzheimer's caregivers will come into being.
Dr Oz said:
  • Alzheimer's is a long slow death sentence.
  • In the future, either you get it, or know someone that has it (Alzheimer's).
Professor Doraiswamy said: "There is very solid evidence that curcumin binds to plaques, and basic research on animals engineered to produce human amyloid plaques has shown benefits. Turmeric has been studied not just in Alzheimer's research but for a variety of conditions, such as cancer and arthritis. Turmeric is often referred to as the spice of life in ancient Indian medical lore."

  • Just spoke with a pharmacist at a local CVS. They have the generic in stock and said the cash price was $130 cheaper. They don't have our insurance info, so I couldn't get anything more exact.
